Ward Manager
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Manager to lead and aspire at The Haldon, the South West regional tier-4 Specialist Inpatient Eating Disorder Unit based in Wonford House, Exeter.
The Haldon is commissioned to provide intensive inpatient treatment for upto 10 individuals at one time. Treatment includes both physical and psychological interventions to support recovery from a severe Eating Disorder in a caring and compassionate environment.
The role will include the operational running of a busy inpatient ward, which has a vast MDT alongside nursing staff. Liaising with commissioners and overseeing extensive training and development of the staffing team.
We are looking for a individual who is motivated, passionate and interested in development within their own career. The successful candidate will be able to lead and organise a team.
Experience in Eating Disorders is Essential.
Main duties of the job
- To provide leadership and management to the ward and clinical team.
- To provide evidence based professional support and advice to the MDT
- To lead and promote education and staff development for the continued professional growth of the team members and students
- To ensure the delivery of high standards of nursing care in accordance with evidence based professional practice, policies and procedures.
- Ensure legislation policies and procedures are implemented and staff have access to these and a understanding of their use.
- Manage allocated budget- ensuring resources are efficiently and effectively used and maintained.
