Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist & Clinical Lead
Job summary
We are seeking an experienced paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to be our countywide clinical lead for speech, as well as hold a mixed community caseload in one of our locality teams. We are flexible on where the post will be based within the county.
The clinical lead will be proactive in reviewing and maintaining our service speech pathway, and will ensure the wider SaLT service are confidently applying it to their own caseloads. The post holder will form part of our children's SaLT leadership team and work alongside other clinical leads, team leads and our operational lead.
The post holder will offer clinical supervision and/or line management across the service, as well as face to face second opinions as needed.
The post holder will work with the area team lead to establish their community caseload, which will include complex situations, and provide assessment and/or intervention to their caseload in line with our service offer. The community caseload can also include Dysphagia if the post holder has RCSLT competence and this is an area of interest for them.

Essential
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent qualification)
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Clinical experience of working with speech sound disorder, other neurodevelopmental disorders, and with children and young people with complex conditions and needs
- Highly developed skills of clinical assessment, evaluation and intervention for children and young people with speech, language and communication difficulties.
Desirable
- Evidence of training/CPD within speech sound disorders
