Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic part-time administrator to join the Community Therapy Team who work across Community and Hospital Inpatients within North Cornwall.

We are a small friendly team comprising ofphysiotherapists, occupational therapists, support workers and two other administrators. You will be based in Carew House at Bodmin but will work flexibly across other sites as required. You will use a range of electronic systems in administratively supporting the team as well as managing stock, ordering as required and assisting with note taking where needed. Inward referrals accepted from a range of professionals to include GPs, Consultants and other health professionals. Training in the various electronic systems will be provided.

The successful applicant will be organised, articulate and with an excellent telephone manner. They should have the ability to maintain composure when dealing with challenging situations.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of the post is:

Initial clerical stage of patient triage assessment for all new patients to team. To provide a professional administrative support service to the Therapy Team within a specific locality area which supports them by resourcing administrative aspects of the work flow allowing clinicians to focus on the priorities of their role. ? To ensure smooth processing of referrals through the department and keeping people informed as appropriate (i.e. the team, patient or referrer) of any developments or problems regarding timing of interventions including equipment ordering/delivery and organisation of ongoing care. To liaise with Adult Community Services colleagues and representatives of other organisations involved, to provide efficient and effective communication with the aim to expedite patients' progress through their care pathway. To provide admin and clerical support for the team as required.

Essential

  • NVQ2 in admin or RSA 2 or equivalent experience
  • Experience of working in an administrative setting

Desirable

  • Healthcare / NHS administrative experience

Skills and Aptitude

  • Understanding of systems and strategies for ensuring secure storage and handling of information and of the importance of patient confidentiality
  • Attention to detail in Word processing and data inputting skills
