Job summary
29.75 hours per week. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Plymouth CAMHS Therapies pathway, we are looking to recruit an Accredited (or accreditable)CAMHS Cognitive Behaviour therapist who will also have the additional qualification of Dialectic behavioural Therapy. Alternatively we will offer you the training in DBT if you do not already have this qualification.
The Plymouth CAMHS Therapies Pathway works with Children & Young People (5-18yrs) who present with complex mental health issues.The team is multidisciplinary and is comprised of Nurses, Mental Health Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Creative therapies, CBT Practitioners, DBT Practitioners and Psychotherapist.
As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, you will provide High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to children and young people with a range of mental health problems, including depression and a range of anxiety disorders. The candidate will be committed to the principals of the IAPT model.
Our CAMHs DBT pathway offers an intensive psychological assessment and treatment programme, which includes a weekly skills groups, sessions for parents/carers, Individual weekly support to the young people and telephone coaching on top of the individual support.

Main duties of the job

To provide a specialist CBT or DBT assessment and intervention for children, young people and their families.
To act as a clinical expert in the field of CBT providing consultation and education to the staff within Livewell Southwest as required.
Maintain appropriate clinical records,in line with Livewell Southwest policy.
To provide services, advice and support to other areas of Livewell Southwest as required.
To contribute to the delivery and the development of clinical services through collaboration with professional staff and other disciplines.
To contribute to the developments of CBT and DBT across the wider CAMHS service, in conjunction with colleagues as required.
To participate in the regular use of Routine outcome measures and other validated outcome measures.
To attend MDT meetings, and other meetings relevant to the post holder.
Whilst maintaining clinical autonomy, to receive regular clinical supervision from an appropriately qualified and experienced supervisor and maintain the highest professional standards.
To be aware of current developments within the profession and to continue to maintain and further develop professional knowledge and skills.
Keep abreast, through study and attendance at National and Local conferences, of developments in CBT and pursue CPD as advised.
To adhere to Policies and Procedures.
To maintain own professional registration to governing bodies as appropriate.

The post is located with a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Livewell South West.
- To improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with Mental Health Difficulties across the full age range (5-18 years) and prevent the development of severe and enduring challenging behaviors.
- To develop shared understanding and collective responsibility of all teams within CAMHS to improve children and young peoples emotional wellbeing and mental health
- For all multi-agency services to work in partnership to promote the mental health of all children and young people, to provide specialist intervention, and meet the needs of children and young people with established or complex problems
- That all children, young people and their families have access to specialist mental health services and support that is based upon the best available evidence, meets minimum core standards and is needs based. Sustained where appropriate, and provided by staff with an appropriate range of skills and competencies
- To contribute to the establishment of a positive working environment and open learning culture, which fosters high morale and commitment within CAMHS and promotes wellbeing, personal development and continuous improvement in the standards of business activities and professional practice.
A. Service Delivery
1a
This post holder will predominately work within the Therapies part of the service. The Mental Health Practitioner will be able to improve children and young peoples mental health through the delivery of an integrated and coordinated system of community based mental health care to children, young people and their families, providing safe, culturally competent, effective, cost efficient, timely and accessible services that are in accordance with national and local priorities and are responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.

To work as an autonomous professional within BPS and Health and Care Professionals Council (HPCP) guidelines and the policies and procedures of the service, taking full responsibility for own work including treatment and discharge decision, caseload, and supervision responsibilities. The post holder will receive regular individual and team supervision and will be expected to seek advice whenever necessary.

To administer and interpret psychological and risk assessments, and to have experience in the use of psychometric measures in the assessment of young people
