Specialist Adult Safeguarding Practitioner - Band 7

An exciting professional opportunity has arisen within the Trust Safeguarding Team for a Band 7 Specialist Safeguarding Adult Practitioner role 1.0 WTE. This is a varied and stimulating role and is a great chance to further develop your safeguarding knowledge, skills and experience. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our safeguarding team in Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Safeguarding Practitioner.

The post holder will be an integral part of the Safeguarding Team and will sit under the adult part of the service working closely with the Named Lead for Safeguarding Adults and alongside the wider Safeguarding Specialist Practitioners to deliver the Trust's statutory safeguarding requirements.

The role requires an experienced registered practitioner who is proficient in managing complex situations, autonomous practice and providing specialist advice and guidance in a health or social care setting. You will be supported by the wider Safeguarding Team to develop your practice and confidence in safeguarding adults at risk.

Main duties of the job

  • Undertaking specified safeguarding duties to support the wider team when required e.g. safeguarding advice line, MARAC research and conference attendance and reports for statutory reviews.
  • To work with the Mental Capacity Act and Liberty Protection Safeguards Lead
  • Support the workforce by providing expert advice and guidance on safeguarding matters using evidence-based practice and legislative frameworks.
  • To collaborate with colleagues within the Trust and with partner agencies in developing high standards of practice in relation to the management of safeguarding matters including Section 42 enquires.
  • Leading on undertaking audits related to safeguarding.
  • Delivery of training packages related to safeguarding and produce safeguarding updates for dissemination.
  • Support the Safeguarding Champions network in the Trust.
